Atlas Air exec joins Jet Fuel Innovation Summit speaker faculty
Shakti Chopra, senior director of procurement and fuel management at Atlas Air, will join Jet Fuel Innovation News’ inaugural Jet Fuel Innovation Summit on April 6-7 in Houston. Chopra will join a roundtable discussion for the opening session, “Trends in Jet Fuel Consumption and Economics.”
Atlas Air Worldwide’s business covers an array of operations, including affiliated scheduled cargo airlines, leasing services of aircraft and full ACMI leases, and passenger and cargo charters flights. Its fleet of 737s, 767s, 777s and 747s operate in markets across the world, and Atlas is one of a handful of carriers with operations for Amazon Air in the United States.
Chopra’s knowledge in jet fuel concerns extends not only to his role at Atlas, but also to his current role as chairman of commercial fuel at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and vice chairman of the IATA Fuel Data Standards Group and the IATA Japan Working Group.
Jet fuel is the single most important cost item for the aviation business, and the Jet Fuel Innovation Summit will explore the efforts underway to improve practices and develop new strategies, technologies and products in jet fuel and global jet fuel management. The event brings together jet fuel providers and emerging ventures within the industry, and presents industry participants with a concentrated opportunity for networking and learning.
